SPORTSMAN'S VENTURES

WINGSHOOTING OPPORTUNITIES

Padlock Ranch offers 3 upland bird hunting experiences:

Wild bird hunting

Wild bird hunting on the Padlock is exciting and productive. Uplands and creek bottoms provide sharptails (chuckle chickens), pheasants and Hungarian partridge. Coulees full of choke cherries, wild plums, buffalo berries and rose hips provide the fall feed these birds need and the colors that make our hunts memorable.

Preserve hunts

Padlock Ranch has four shooting preserves, 2 in Montana, and 2 in Wyoming where we supplement native populations to insure that you will have an exiting and productive wingshooting experience.

Sage Grouse hunts

Sage grouse hunts take place on our 130,000 acre Forks Ranch property. Sometimes the hens are in areas shared by sharp-tail grouse and the occasional pheasant rise makes for an exciting hunt. While hunting sage grouse you will probably see trophy elk and mule deer as well as pronghorn antelope, eagles, burrowing owls and other wildlife species. Ruff grouse have been reported in the high woody rims.

TUITION
Our 3 day hunting package includes 4 nights at the lodge, 3 days of hunting, guides and dogs, meals, 5-stand and libations for $3,575 inclusive. You need to bring your gun and a desire to have a good time. It will be a long time before the smile goes away.

TRANSPORTATION
Airports are located in Billings, Montana (BIL) and Sheridan, Wyoming (SHR). We will meet you there. For those driving a detailed map will be provided.

LODGING
Our Wolf Mountain Lodge is located north of Sheridan, Wyoming on the border with Montana. The lodge is situated on a hillside overlooking Ash Creek, a perennial stream running from the Wolf Mountains to the Tongue River, ten miles away. The valley is home to mountain lion, bear, bobcat, mule deer, turkey and many species of neo-tropical birds.
The lodge provides an elegant expression of our western lifestyle that we offer to you as a comfortable base from which to explore and hunt our species rich environment. Commons rooms provide for dining and camaraderie while the eight en-suite guest rooms offer quiet and calm after a busy day.
A five-stand course is available to help sharpen your shooting skills or we can pull a trap and work on the right hand crossing shot that has been bothering you for so long.
The kitchen staff knows how to make your culinary experience memorable.
Non-shooting associates will find hiking and other activities to fill their day.
